Euromos

It is located between Milas and Bafa Lake. It is known to be one of the best preserved temples
in Asia Minor which is the Temple of Euromos. It was built in the 2nd century A.D. It was
consisted of 17 columns originally and today 16 of them are standing. The temple was
believed to be completed ever
..

A few meters away from the Temple to the north, the city of Euromos is located. The remains
of a round tower from 300 B.C. and a theatre can be seen. Several underground tomb chambers
and a large building which could be the bath are among the ruins of the city. Euromos was a
wealthy city whose inhabitants were living in some disharmony. When Mylasa demanded
recompense the citizens of Euromos turned to the Rhodians.

The Temple of Zeus
Euromos, on the road between Selcuk (Ephesus) and Bodrum, is to me
the
perfect ruined Greek temple.Set in a forest of olive trees, it almost looks like a
Hollywood set, except it's for real.Stop for a half-hour's look if you're driving south from
Izmir or Ephesus headed for Milas, Bodrum or Marmaris.

Located about a mile south of the village of Selimiye, the temple area has no services,
although there may be a villager selling cold drinks. This is actually a much larger archeological
site than just the temple. The hillside to the east is littered with ruins, and if you spend an hour
hiking around you can find a
theater, an agora and massive defensive walls.
